Legislative Affairs
GSPM’s prestigious master’s degree program is truly one of a kind:The nation’s only one exclusively devoted to the study of applied politics in the legislative arena.
Armed with our practical expertise, elite network, and D.C. savvy, our alumni have launched or advanced their careers from Capitol Hill to statehouses around the country, and around the world. It is no surprise that at least a dozen serve as Congressional chiefs of staff, or that numerous GSPM alumni serve as elected officials, lobbyists, and advocates at every level of national and state government.
"GSPM is the perfect program for any student whether a working professional or traditional undergrad-to-graduate pipeline student because of the class sizes, flexibility in the program, and accessibility of professors.
I can attribute much of my success as a career military officer to the critical thinking and research skills honed as a GW student. The objective way politics is taught enhanced my ability to breach the partisan curtain and appreciate every opinion across the political spectrum."
Lt. Col Steven L. Coffee, Legislative Affairs, 2008
Chief, Joint Military Personnel and Senior
Leader Management Division at Headquarters U.S. Cyber Command
